Located in Berrias-et-Casteljau, in the southern Ardèche region, our campsite is the perfect starting point for exploring this exceptionally rich area. Ideally situated, our site combines the tranquility of nature with convenience, allowing you to easily access the shops and supermarkets of Les Vans and Rosières, both just 12 km away.
The Bois de Païolive: A magical forest on your doorstep
Just a few minutes from the campsite lies the legendary Bois de Païolive.
Nicknamed "the Fairy Forest," this exceptional natural site covers more than 16 km² and offers a spectacle unique in Europe.A Labyrinth of Sculpted Rocks: Be amazed by its ancient limestone chaos, where time and erosion have sculpted giant blocks of stone into fantastic shapes (like the famous Bear and Lion Rock).
Enchanted Hikes: It's a shady playground ideal for the whole family. Marked trails (the Virgin's Trail, the Bestiary Trail) allow you to stroll among white oaks and stone sculptures. Between cliffs, rivers, and charming villages: The surrounding area Staying in Berrias-et-Casteljau puts you at the heart of the most beautiful outdoor activities and opportunities to explore the Ardèche: The Chassezac Gorges and the Casteljau Peninsula: Located right next to the campsite, these gorges offer breathtaking scenery. It's a paradise for river swimming and canoeing, but also an internationally renowned climbing site thanks to its magnificent limestone cliffs. Villages steeped in history: Stroll through the cobbled streets of Banne and its fortified castle overlooking the plain, Labeaume nestled in the heart of the cliffs, or Balazuc and Vogüé, listed among the most beautiful villages in France. A fascinating underground journey: Explore the depths of the Earth by visiting the spectacular Cocalière Cave (nearby), the unmissable Aven d'Orgnac, or the famous Chauvet 2 Cave, a magnificent replica of the oldest decorated cave in the world. Markets and local produce: Don't miss the local markets (like the large market in Les Vans on Saturday mornings) to discover local specialties. The caves and the villages
The Ardèche region is famous for its remarkable caves. Chauvet Cave 2, a replica of the famous cave listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, features reproductions of unique cave paintings. The Cocalière Cave and the Aven d'Orgnac, with its immense chambers and spectacular concretions, are also must-sees.
As for the villages, Casteljau, with its medieval castle, Ruoms, gateway to the Ardèche Gorges, Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, and Les Vans, a typical village, will seduce you with their charm and preserved heritage.
Sports activities
For thrill-seekers, the Ardèche is an ideal destination. Canoe down the Chassezac River for a pleasant time with family or friends. Four rental shops are located near the campsite, where you'll find all the equipment and advice you need.
Mountain biking trails will allow you to explore the region's diverse landscapes, from forests to cliffs. Climbing and via ferrata enthusiasts will find plenty to enjoy on routes suitable for all levels. A climbing guide is available for purchase at reception; there are numerous climbing sites in the surrounding area.
Other things to see
The markets in Ruoms, Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, Les Vans, and Joyeuse offer the chance to sample local specialties and meet passionate producers.
In July and August, you can enjoy the night markets in Ruoms and Vallon-Pont-d'Arc.
